{"id":9162,"date":"2021-10-29T13:14:23","date_gmt":"2021-10-29T11:14:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.incide.it\/?p=9162"},"modified":"2021-12-18T22:57:51","modified_gmt":"2021-12-18T21:57:51","slug":"torre-galfa-bim-in-plant-design","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.incide.it\/en\/torre-galfa-bim-in-plant-design\/","title":{"rendered":"Torre Galfa: BIM in Plant design"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A Challenging Case of Plant Design<\/span><\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qRTEyWOWAfk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">After 16 years of disuse, the redevelopment and enhancement project of the<strong> tallest building in Milan<\/strong> was launched, with the aim of recovering and enhancing one of the most important icons of modern architecture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Incide Engineering<\/strong> was commissioned by <strong>Cefla<\/strong> (Contractor of plant engineering works) for the executive design of the <strong>electrical and mechanical plants<\/strong>, through the use of <strong>BIM methodologies<\/strong>. The Client Unipol Assicurazioni SpA expressly requested this methodology in order to receive an information model to be used in the subsequent Building Management phase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><div class=\"btx-item btx-image btx-center-position\"><div class=\"btx-image-container\"><div class=\"btx-media-wrapper modal-image\" style=\"max-width:100%;\"><a class=\"btx-media-wrapper-inner\" href=\"https:\/\/www.incide.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Immagine-1-originale-scaled.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.incide.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Immagine-1-originale-1280x987.jpg\" alt=\"Torre Galfa\"  width=\"1280\" height=\"987\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.incide.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Immagine-1-originale-1280x987.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.incide.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Immagine-1-originale-1024x790.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.incide.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Immagine-1-originale-768x592.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.incide.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Immagine-1-originale-512x395.jpg 512w, https:\/\/www.incide.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Immagine-1-originale-300x231.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width:1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/a><\/div><\/div><div class=\"btx-image-caption\"> Galfa Tower: Plant Design<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The design of the systems was particularly challenging due to the type of building (a 100-meter tower), the multifunctional intended use and the <strong>limited space available<\/strong>, which were resolved in the use of BIM design.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The possibility of designing on an architectural model created by <strong>laser scanner survey<\/strong> has allowed to have a certain and always available geometric base, which has been the strength of a project that has allowed the integration of architectural and plant solutions and to win the challenge of such a complex construction site.
