The Dallara Foundation in the magazine “Architetture in acciaio”

FONDAZIONE dallara rivista

The Caterina Dallara Foundation project, conceived by Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia and developed by Incide, has been relaunched by Architetture in Acciaio, the only magazine in Italy entirely dedicated to design, architecture and metal structural engineering, edited by Fondazione Promozione Acciaio.

The publication explores the architectural and structural concept behind the project in Varano de’ Melegari, describing the role of steel in defining a light, transparent architecture: an attractive architecture with welcoming spaces open to the community, housing study rooms, an auditorium, offices and a multi-purpose hall, designed to be places for sharing, social inclusion and the dissemination of art and culture. The client’s objective, embodied by the designers, is to contribute to changing the cultural model, giving the area the ability to project itself into the future.

The project focused on coordinating design and economic efforts around shared objectives, making dialogue between designers and clients an operational tool for restoring value to the area.

Through images, drawings and texts, the value of design coordination emerges as a tool for restoring collective spaces and new cultural opportunities to the area, in the spirit of fruitful urban continuity.
