Safety on construction sites and digitalisation

Safety on construction sites is still one of the most important challenges in the construction sector. In Italy, hundreds of serious and fatal accidents are recorded every year: according to INAIL, in 2024 alone there were more than 511,688 accidents at work, of which more than 1,077 were fatal, 48 more than the 1,029 in 2023. A significant proportion of these accidents occur on construction sites, where risks are higher due to the changing nature of activities, the co-existence of several companies and, consequently, workers. Currently, legislation and the digitisation of construction sites are supporting the sector.

Digital jobsite management: digitisation to support site safety

Today, digitalisation applied to the control of construction site phases is also a strategic ally in the field of safety. The use of digital information models, such as those adopted by Incide, allows precise and transparent monitoring of activities, with concrete advantages: real-time updates on technical and administrative documentation, instant sharing of annotated plans, task management with traceability of responsibilities, and continuous verification of construction solutions. These are all elements that help reduce operational risks, prevent errors and avoid critical issues that can compromise site safety. Centralised digital management allows full awareness of progress, potential hazards and corrective actions to be taken in a timely manner, making the construction site safer for everyone involved.

Jobsite management: new technologies to optimise it

Incide’s Construction and Safety Department monitors the application of safety regulations at civil, infrastructure and plant construction sites on a daily basis. Activities include:

  • Planning of works and drafting of time schedules;
  • Drafting of SSCs and work files;
  • Estimation of safety costs;
  • Direct assumption of the role of CSP/CSE;
  • Transmission of preliminary notifications to the competent bodies;
  • Technical verifications and document audits.

Thanks to many years of experience and an interdisciplinary team, Incide offers an integrated, pragmatic and always up-to-date regulatory approach, capable of guaranteeing not only compliance with the law but a real culture of prevention and safety.
