Progress of construction work on the new school complex in Albaredo d’Adige

The new school complex in Albaredo d’Adige is set to become the beating heart and cultural hub of the community. Developed in partnership with VGA, Incide played a multidisciplinary role, overseeing the structural and services design, construction management, fire prevention and safety, all coordinated via an advanced BIM platform.

This project, which has received PNRR funding for climate change mitigation, stands out as a model of sustainability: designed to minimise energy consumption and emissions, the building strictly complies with CAM requirements and exceeds NZEB standards, with primary energy demand 20% lower than legal requirements. Technical robustness is guaranteed by full compliance with the latest anti-seismic regulations, making the structure a benchmark for safety and technological innovation.

Whilst the interiors are now complete and reveal the extraordinary quality of the spaces — such as the library’s large ‘agora’ with its tiered seating and the striking interplay of natural light provided by the skylights and the light well — the construction site is drawing to a close, with work now focusing on the outdoor areas and the sports court.

The distinctive sheet metal cladding emphasises the identity of a building that stands as a new, cutting-edge civic hub, poised to redefine the surrounding urban context.
Here are the details of the work carried out, which demonstrate Incide’s integrated approach and technical precision.

Architectural envelope and structural connections: Incide coordinated the completion of the architectural envelope and the complex structural integration of the connecting tunnel, ensuring the perfect integrity and iconic identity of a contemporary structure.

Basic plant and technological infrastructure: Incide supervised the integration of NZEB plant systems into the BIM platform, ensuring a 20% reduction in energy consumption through the commissioning of state-of-the-art air handling and radiant systems.

Interior finishes and quality of communal spaces: Incide directed the creation of interiors with high social value, maximising natural light and the use of sustainable materials in key spaces such as the library’s large ‘agora’.

Safety, fire protection and compliance: Incide has ensured compliance with the highest standards of seismic safety and fire protection, coordinating EVAC performance tests and REI certifications to guarantee the building’s full compliance and suitability for use.

Urban development and outdoor facilities: Incide has overseen the sustainable integration of the complex into the local area, implementing drainage infrastructure, green spaces and multi-purpose sports facilities designed for durability and community integration.

The current state of the construction site for the new school complex in Albaredo d’Adige shows that the project is nearing completion, with the interiors almost finished and the focus now on the finishing touches and outdoor areas, ready to welcome the generations of tomorrow.
