Fruit and vegetable market – Camaiore | Italy

Improvements to the logistics capacity of the wholesale fruit and vegetable market in Via Italica, Lido di Camaiore (Tuscany), were funded by Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) to develop wholesale agri-food logistics.
Working in a temporary professional consortium, Incide Engineering was responsible for the architectural, structural and civil design, multidisciplinary BIM coordination and safety coordination.
Built in the 1950s, the facility no longer matched current goods handling volumes and methods. Through building and architectural works, the scheme restored full functionality and regulatory compliance, rethinking the layout of spaces and internal traffic flows to reduce conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians.
The BIM execution plan ensured dimensional and performance control of components and coordination across all disciplines within the consortium, while safety coordination supported the definition of site phasing. The project also applied Italy's minimum environmental criteria (CAM) for public procurement.
